1. Acceptance of Terms
By using DotCode Gen ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
The App is a free tool available within the Canva platform that allows users to:
- Generate DotCode 2D symbols from GS1 data, serial numbers, or other text
- Generate up to 12 codes at once in bulk
- Customize foreground and background colors
- Insert generated codes into Canva designs
3. Use of the App
3.1 Permitted Use
You may use the App to:
- Create DotCode symbols for legitimate business or industrial purposes
- Generate codes for product serialization, packaging, and other lawful uses
- Insert codes into your own Canva designs
- Export and print generated codes
3.2 Prohibited Use
You may NOT use the App to:
- Generate codes for illegal activities or fraudulent purposes
- Create codes that violate intellectual property rights
- Generate codes containing malicious content, phishing links, or malware
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or access the App's source code
4. Accuracy of Information
Important: You are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all information you enter into the App.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- GS1 application identifiers and data
- Serial numbers and batch codes
- Product identifiers and reference numbers
The developer is not responsible for any errors, losses, or damages resulting from incorrect information in generated codes.
5. Testing Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Testing generated codes before printing or distribution
- Verifying that encoded data is correct and readable
- Ensuring codes meet your quality and accuracy standards
- Confirming codes are compatible with intended scanner devices
- Testing print quality and scannability at intended sizes
6. No Warranty
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of generated codes
We do not guarantee that:
- Generated DotCode symbols will always be scannable by all devices
- The App will work perfectly in all circumstances
- Generated codes will meet specific industry standards
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
The developer (Naveen Bhavnani) shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Costs associated with printing or producing defective codes
- Business losses or lost profits
- Damages from unscannable or incompatible codes
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
8. Canva Platform Terms
Your use of this App is also governed by:
In case of conflict between these Terms and Canva's terms, Canva's terms shall prevail.
9. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Naveen Bhavnani and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The codes you generate using the App are your own property and may be used freely for any legal purpose.
10. Modifications to the App
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice
- Update features or functionality
- Change these Terms of Service (changes will be posted on this page)
Continued use of the App after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, if:
- You violate these Terms
- You use the App for illegal or fraudulent purposes
- Required by law or Canva's policies
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Naveen Bhavnani from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- DotCode symbols you generate and distribute
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good faith negotiations. If negotiations fail, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, India.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Naveen Bhavnani regarding the use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
